Tour - Rwanda is famous for its “city of a thousand hills” with unparalleled attractive mountain ranges, savannah forests, lakes, green hills and diverse wild forests where flowers flourish and bloom, giving your trip a romantic atmosphere. It also allows you to observe animals, climb mountains, practice water sports and canoeing, in addition to exploring wildlife and visiting tourist attractions.
Your scheduled arrival at Kigali Airport (hopefully scheduled to land before 14:00) and you go through the routine clearance process. Once done, you will be greeted by a waiting tour guide, and then set off on the road to Volcanoes National Park. Volcanoes National Park is located in northwestern Rwanda and borders Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda. You will arrive at your booked accommodation and can relax awaiting the next day's activity. Optional (additional cost): If time permits and you're interested, consider a trip to Kigali before moving on to Volcanoes NP. The Golden Monkey Trekking in Volcanoes National Park takes place at 07:00 AM, the same time as the Gorilla Trekking. This rare species of monkey is also listed as endangered. Volcanoes NP has regular groups available for trips by visitors. The exercise begins with a short briefing by the park ranger at the RDB office. Next, you'll embark on a golden monkey trek through the rainforest of Volcanoes NP. Return to the accommodation for some rest and lunch. After lunch, head to Cianica border post. From Cyanika, you will be greeted by our professional tour guide based in Uganda who will be standing in for his colleague based in Rwanda. You will cross the border into Uganda and spend the night at a property near Bwindi National Park, where you will begin your gorilla trekking the next day. After breakfast, proceed to the ranger site where you will receive a briefing from the ranger guide on what to do and what not to do during gorilla trekking. Next, you will enter the gorilla sanctuary for your adventure and encounter. The beauty of these rainforests is amazing! The area offers dramatic, steeply forested landscapes and is incredibly dense but is crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access for tourists. The time taken and the terrain vary depending on the movements of these great primates. Once you locate the gorilla group, you will be allowed to attend them for an hour. The joy of spending time observing these gentle but endangered giants is unforgettable. Return to the accommodation and take a rest after a hard day.
Wake up early, have breakfast, and take a trip to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NB, famous for its tree-climbing lions. Once you get there, take a drive in search of this rare species of lion. If you have the opportunity to see the lions in the tree, the view will be breathtaking and unforgettable. From Ishasha (South), exit and head to the reserved accommodation in the North sector. Check in and take a rest. Optional: If you're interested, consider taking a game drive or safari in the late afternoon to evening on the Cassini Plains. Wake up early and have breakfast. Take a morning drive or safari on the Kasenyi plains and be on the lookout for Cape buffalo and herds of elephants, as well as lions, leopards (although they can be difficult to spot), and more. Return to the accommodation for some rest and lunch. After lunch, you will go on a two-hour boat trip on the Kazinga Canal linking Lakes George and Edward. During the trip, you will be dazzled by the sight of wildlife, including giant hippos, elephants, crocodiles and more. You will also see many species of birds on the shores of the water. Optional (no cost): If you're interested, you can go watch a short game in the late afternoon into the evening and then return to the hostel for dinner and overnight. Wake up early, have breakfast and head to the nearby Calinzo Forest Reserve. The forest is home to the usual chimpanzees as well as other primates including baboons, monkeys and also various bird species. Today, you will spend the first part of the day tracking chimpanzees. Next, proceed to Lake Mburo National Park via Mbarara town. Once you arrive in Mboro, you can choose to check in and relax, or check in and go for a drive. Optional (additional cost): If you are interested, consider an overnight game drive to see nocturnal wildlife. Enjoy your early breakfast and go for a morning walk in Mburo Park accompanied by an armed guide from the Uganda Wildlife Authority. On this early morning guided tour, you will have the opportunity to meet zebra, giraffe, eland, topi and other antelope at close range, and Cape buffalo among others. Take the road up the hills to see Lake Mburo and beyond. Afterwards, return to the accommodation to check out and proceed to Entebbe Airport to catch your flight (17:00 or later).
